As part of continued effort to demonstrate commitment to the development and growth of Technical Education in Nigeria, leading Total Real Estate Solutions and Healthcare Management Services Company, Alpha Mead Group, has donated face masks to the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education, LASTVEB.

The donation, done on the auspices of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE’s) Mask for all Initiative “is another way Alpha Mead is drawing attention to the importance of technical education in economic development”, said Olusesan Ogunyooye, Head, Marketing & Corporate Communications, Alpha Mead Group.

During the donation at the LASTVEB office in Lagos, Ogunyooye said Alpha Mead’s interest in technical education stems from its position as a leading Total Real Estate Solutions Company whose execution excellence thrives on technical skills.

He said: “our experience over the years has been showing a decline in technical skill set. While a company like ours has been able to devise a means to bridge this gap through our training centre, we feel that may not amount to much for an economic-critical industry like Real Estate. So, we thought to address this gap from the foundation by supporting technical education with our resources, skills, and experiences”.

“We supported LASTVEB with soft skill training and safety material supplies for over 100 students from Lagos State technical colleges last year through our PATH  initiative; and today, to ensure that the global pandemic doesn’t shortchange technical education, we are here with our partner, the NSE, to donate face masks which are essential materials in the fight against the Corona Virus diseases”, he explained.

On his part, Olumide Orojimi, Head, Corporate Communications, NSE said the exchange understands that people need to return to work for the economy to thrive. He explained that the Mask For All Initiative is a simple but impactful way of working with corporate organisations to hasten the full revival of the economy by ensuring that at least all Nigeria own a minimum of two facemasks.

Speaking on the donation, Ronke Azeez, Executive Secretary, LASTVEB expressed profound appreciation to Alpha Mead Group for the donation to LASVEB and paying close attention and investing in the growth of technical skills in Nigeria. She noted that while other corporate are looking in direction that will earn them publicity, Alpha Mead Group chose to address and solve real problems.

She also commended the NSE for the Mask for all campaign, noting that the initiative is coming at a time when the board is thinking about how to ensure safety of the students when they return to school.
