In line with the partnership arrangement between our Real Estate & Asset Management Subsidiary, Alpha Mead Development Company (AMDC) and the Ondo State Government on the International Culture & Event Centre, The Dome, Akure, plans are now in top gear to hold the first Akure Shoppers Fair.

“The Akure Shoppers Fair is a business and market development initiative designed leverage on the increased spend associated with the festive season to offer value to shoppers and exhibitors, and stimulate public awareness and interest in the Akure Dome”, said Damola Akindolire, Managing Director, AMDC.

The fair, according to Bisola Ige, event manager for the fair, “is a market place that intends to link buyers and sellers in an atmosphere of fun and relaxation”. She furthered that the Fair seeks to attract over 10,000 visitors, 300 exhibitors and over 10 million naira in sales transaction over the planned period of three days.

Ige noted; “the fair is one way the Akure Dome is trying to redefine shopping lifestyle in Ondo State. Our goal is to reposition the Dome as a destination of choice in Ondo State and this fair is one of the strategies we are implementing to make this a reality”.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, we thought about what we can do to bring smile and relief to families this festive season and how we can help businesses, particularly SMEs in Ondo State, do more as the year rounds off. A shopper fair was what came to mind and we are excited with the level of acceptance we are getting”.

To deliver value to all stakeholders around the fair, activities such as masterclasses for the SMEs, daily raffle draws, music, fun, comedy and lots more have been scheduled for the event.

These actvities according to the Akindolire will ensure that the fair is more than a buying and selling event. “We want it to add value. We care about the exhibitors beyond the days of the fair, so we have planned daily masterclasses that will help them grow and explore the values they get from the fair” Akindolire concluded.

The Akure Dome was concessioned to AMDC by the Ondo State Government in 2018. AMDC is expected to manage and operate the asset for the next 15 years
